Coyote mating season has begun in Texas. According to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, coyote mating season typically begins around mid-January and ends during the first part of March. During these months, coyotes can become significantly more aggressive as they search for food sources and protect their young and dens. Although the animals always pose a risk to small pets, they risk is heightened during this time.
The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department says that coyotes are territorial and scavengers when it comes to food.They will eat just about anything, including smaller pets. They recommend taking extra precautions when it comes your pets during the mating season months. Walk them on a leash instead of letting them outside on their own and do not leave food outside at any time.

Aggressive Coyotes Once Again A Concern During Mating Season
It is a month into mating season for coyotes which means there could be more sightings and the coyotes are likely more aggressive. The mating season began in mid-January and ends in early March.
